Scholar Tutorials is an educational institution providing tutoring facilities to K-12 students with an individualized academic program that aims at fostering conceptual understanding and focuses on improving the school grades. At present, it has two tutoring centers, at Edison and at Fairfield, and accepts enrollments from all 50 states for Online Tutoring.

PRASHANT BALDEV – FOUNDER/ACADEMIC DIRECTOR/PRINCIPAL FACULTY

Dr. Prashant Baldev, Ed.D., Founder and Academic Director of Scholar Tutorials, has over four decades of teaching experience. A Rutgers University graduate, he develops and oversees all PSAT, SAT, and ACT Test Preparation Programs, providing personalized attention to each student.

His doctoral dissertation, “Urban Students Developing Algebraic Ideas in an Informal After-School Program,” deepened his understanding of students’ learning needs beyond the classroom. As a former Research Associate at the Robert B. Davis Institute for Learning, Dr. Baldev gained expertise in innovative educational methods.

This understanding, combined with a clear recognition of the critical demand for quality tutoring services in the United States, inspired him to establish Scholar Tutorials in New Jersey in 2006. All programs are designed to help students reach their full potential and achieve academic success. Each program can be fully customized to meet the unique needs of every individual student.

An advocate of the Constructivist Theory of Learning, Dr. Baldev emphasizes active, student-centered education where learners build and refine ideas based on prior knowledge. He believes education should nurture the innate human passion for learning by fostering environments for growth and exploration.

Dr. Baldev is dedicated to applying these principles at Scholar Tutorials, inspiring academic success through tailored instruction.

SATYEN BALDEV – CENTER COORDINATOR / LEAD FACULTY

Satyen Baldev, affectionately known as Mr. B by his students and their parents, holds a B.A. in Biology from Rutgers University, along with dual master’s degrees: one in Mathematics Education from Rutgers University and another in Early Childhood Education from Kean University. A cornerstone of Scholar Tutorials since its inception, Mr. B has cultivated a distinctive teaching style by blending insights from Dr. B’s teaching techniques with his own extensive experience outside of Scholar Tutorials. His approach prioritizes a deep understanding of concepts, ensuring that students build a strong foundation for learning.

With over a decade of experience teaching K-12 students, Mr. B is a passionate advocate for early childhood education, recognizing its profound impact on students’ long-term academic success. His commitment to education extends beyond the classroom to research. For his master’s thesis, he conducted a study on the involvement of Indian immigrant parents in their children’s education. He has also contributed to research at Rutgers University exploring how children conceptualize fractions using Cuisenaire Rods.

LUBNA TAI – LEAD FACULTY

Lubna Tai is a seasoned educator with a Master’s degree in Mathematics, awarded with a Gold Medal from South Gujarat University. For nearly 15 years, she has been a dedicated full-time faculty member at Scholar Tutorials, working alongside Dr. B to help students achieve academic excellence. As a senior member of the Scholar Tutorials Tutoring Team, Lubna is highly skilled in teaching PSAT, SAT, and ACT Math. Her ability to simplify complex concepts and share effective shortcut strategies is highly valued by her students. Her expertise, commitment, and innovative approach make her an integral part of the team.

NEELAM BALDEV – LEAD FACULTY

Neelam has done her Bachelor of Commerce from University of Mumbai and has been the administrative backbone of Scholar Tutorials. She has been instrumental in proving valuable support in framing and implementing administrative policies while understanding the needs and aspirations of the parents. She provides a patient ear to all the parental concerns.
